A record 150 global AR and VR start-ups from 40 countries applied – with particularly strong showings from Austria, France, Germany, the Nordic region and the UK, reflecting the strong European ecosystem for XR. These start-ups cover technology stacks of diverse domains with a high concentration in AI platforms for capture and creation, games, arts and culture, AR glasses, ecommerce and advertising.
The finalists, selected from over 150 entries that passed the first round of due diligence, are:
Competing start-ups will present their XR companies to a panel of expert judges including Mr. Obeder; Petri Rajhalme, Founding Partner FOV Ventures; and Leanne Segers, Venture Scout and co-founder of Women in Immersive Technologies (WIIT) Europe.
