Alan Wake 2 has garnered significant critical acclaim, and although it only secured one victory here, considering the substantial number of critics participating in The Game Awards, it appears to be a formidable contender against Baldur’s Gate 3 for the GOTY. Nevertheless, it’s undeniably challenging to overlook Baldur’s sweeping success.

Critically, how closely do the Golden Joysticks align with their previous selections? Formulate your own conclusions. Elden Ring secured the 2022 GOTY, Resident Evil Village clinched the 2021 GOTY, The Last of Us Part II emerged victorious in 2020, Resident Evil 2 was triumphant in 2019, Fortnite seized the 2018 GOTY, and Breath of the Wild claimed the 2017 GOTY. I guess Resident Evil is certainly a frontrunner in their book.
While I won’t reveal my selections just yet, I anticipate that Baldur’s Gate 3 will claim a top prize, not only at the Game Awards but also on numerous other listings.
