The House Oversight Committee Chairman, James Comer, stated that his panel discovered evidence that Joe Biden received “direct payments of $200,000″ from his brother James Biden and sister-in-law Sarah Biden in 2018. He also received financial support from the president. The purpose of the investigation was to address concerns about the arrangement with his family members.

Comer seeks answers on whether Biden documented records mentioning countries related to family business deals
In September, Comer issued three subpoenas for personal and business bank records linked to both Hunter Biden and James Biden.
Comer provided details about his committee’s latest findings in a video posted on “X,” formerly known as Twitter. According to Comer, the check was written by James Biden to President Biden as a “loan repayment,” but he raised concerns about the timing.
“Bank records obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability revealed that a direct payment of $200,000 was made in the form of a personal check to Joe Biden on behalf of James and Sarah Biden,” stated Comer.
Comer emphasized that in 2018, James Biden received “a $600,000 loan from Americor – a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator.”

“According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans based on representations that his last name could open doors for Biden and that he could receive a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections,” explained Comer.
He further stated, “On March 1, 2018, Americor sent a $200,000 loan to James and Sarah Biden’s personal bank account, not their business bank account. And then, on the same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check to Joe Biden from the same personal bank account.”
Comer indicated that James Biden “wrote this check to Joe Biden as ‘loan repayment.’”
“Americor—a troubled company—lent the money to James Biden, who sent it to Joe Biden,” affirmed Comer.
However, Comer expressed his concern that even if the payment was “a personal loan repayment, it is still troubling that Joe Biden’s ability to be paid by his brother was dependent on the success of his family’s shady financial transactions.”

“Some of the immediate questions President Biden must answer to the American people are: Does he have the documents proving that he lent such a large sum of money to his brother, and what were the terms of such financial arrangement?” asked Comer. “Did he have similar financial arrangements with other family members that required them to make similar large payments to him?”
Comer also inquired whether Biden knew that on the same day he received a check for $200,000, “James Biden received a loan of exactly that amount from a business transaction with a company that was in financial trouble and failed.”

DOJ orders investigators of Hunter Biden to ‘remove any references’ to Joe Biden in Fara probe warrant: House GOP
“The House Oversight Committee will soon announce our next investigative actions and will continue to follow the money,” he said. “The bank records don’t end here. There’s more to come.”
However, Ian Sams, the White House spokesman for oversight and investigations, informed Fox News Digital that the committee has “found no evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden — and that’s because there is no evidence.”
Sams stated, “As some House Republicans themselves have said, this is ‘failure theater’ intended to distract people from how incapable they are of doing the basic things of governing.” “It is no coincidence that just minutes after another unsuccessful vote for the Speaker he took a new distraction.”
“Instead of working together and working for the American people, they are making more false allegations against President Biden – despite their own evidence once again refuting their false claims. After combing through thousands of pages of Citizen’s bank records, they have again found no evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden – and that’s because there is no evidence,” continued Sams. “President Biden didn’t do anything wrong either.”

Sams argued that the investigation “has become a self-deprecating wildcat move that is only providing evidence that President Biden did nothing wrong.”
He added, “House Republicans need to look in the mirror, realize there are real issues in this country that need to be addressed, elect a president, work for the American people—and stop these stupid political stunts.”
Ultimately, the White House stated that the committee discovered that as a private citizen, the President lent money to his brother when he needed it, and after reviewing bank records, it is apparent that he repaid him.

Comer’s claims come amidst his months-long investigation. Comer, along with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, a Republican from Missouri, are leading the House impeachment investigation against Biden.
Thus far, during the committee’s investigation, Comer stated that he found members of the Biden family, their business associates, and their “related companies” received significant payments from “individuals and companies in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania.”
Comer revealed that during the investigation conducted by the House Oversight Committee, the Biden family and their business associates earned over $24 million between 2014 and 2019 by “selling Joe Biden as a ‘brand’ around the world.”
