Until September 26th, Maria and Louis Dwelly from Dwelly Family Farms will be selling their fresh produce, which includes a diverse selection of 12 types of tomatoes, two kinds of corn, and their specialty in onions and beans, at the Just a Drop In Farmers Market located in Gardnerville. Moreover, they will continue offering their products at the Minden Farmers Market.
Last fall, the Wednesday season of the Gardnerville Farmers Market was a great success.
According to coordinator Teresa Bennis, the farmers market concluded its season on a positive note, marking an excellent inaugural year.
He expressed, “It has been exceptionally positive. I have gained extensive knowledge and I am brimming with ideas and ambitious plans for the upcoming year.”
Heritage Park has been hosting the farmers market for four consecutive years now, with Bennis now leading the coordination of the event, taking over from Sierra Chef for the first time this year.
“This park is so beautiful and has so much potential,” Bennis said. “People notice it more and it’s easier to access. “It’s a great place to come and there are a lot of opportunities available.”
In the future, Bennis stated their intention to provide a greater range of vendors and food options, ensuring increased diversity.
She expressed her desire to contribute further to this cause, saying, “I aim to encourage health and fitness, and if possible, collaborate with the hospital and nearby gyms to coordinate activities, potentially even incorporating Trail into our efforts.”
In an effort to bring recipe demonstrations to the farmers market, Bennis mentioned her collaboration with local restaurants.
My goal is to restore the intimate atmosphere of a small town to the farmers market, fostering a sense of community where people can come together to enjoy food, crafts, and wellness activities.
“You meet all kinds of people,” Pfister said. “Even if it seems like you have an unconventional thing for a farmers market, it’s still amazing exposure for your business and it’s a wonderful experience.”
Pfister commented, “At a farmers market, you come across a wide variety of people. Even though it may be unconventional, being present there gives your business amazing visibility and provides a delightful experience.”
Pfister has consistently supplied Dwelly Family Farms and Rodriguez Ranch as a trusted vendor.
The Dwelly Family Farms hails from Brentwood, California.
The produce is collected on Tuesday mornings by Louis Dwelly and subsequently delivered to both the Minden Farmers Market and Just a Drop In Farmers Market.
According to Dwelley, “We derive pleasure from participating in two programs and getting to know new individuals.”
Bennis expressed gratitude to the community and the city of Gardnerville for their sponsorship and unwavering support of the Just a Drop In Farmers Market.
She expressed her gratitude to the city of Gardnerville for their efforts and to the community for their presence, enjoyment, and support.
The Minden Farmers Market, located on Esmeralda Avenue, will be open every Tuesday until September 26th, operating from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
