It is the culmination of a multi-pronged strategy that engages the global market and seriously elevates MINI’s Cooper, Aceman and Countryman lineup.

Wurst sees the Mini as having a solid place in the future as part of a strategy to reduce carbon emissions in cities. Taking a page from existing regulations in Europe and Asia, American cities have begun adopting rules and fees around low-emission zones.
“The brand really aligns with some of the smart city initiatives happening globally,” Wurst said. “There is also a movement toward thinking about the future of cities and design and how the automobile can be incorporated with multimodal forms of transportation.
“We also have to think about maybe cities in Europe that will ban a specific type or size of vehicle at a time. And I think Mini can play a big role here.
