“NMEF’s contribution will help empower young men and women who are less fortunate to graduate high school and prepare for life plans,” said Amanda Dubois-Mwake, Executive Director and CEO of Future 5. “We follow our members to the next stage of their lives, whether it’s college, trade school or the military, and prepare them to become productive members of the workforce. When companies like North Mill hire one of our members, they can rest assured that the new employee understands that hard work and commitment are ingredients for success.
North Mill’s mission in allocating the people and time necessary to create a charitable program is to give back to the communities in which the business operates. Two North Mill employees (Kristin Koster, CLFP, vice president of operational risk, and Pierina Silvestre, CLFP, assistant vice president and business analyst), are leading the initiative.
“When we announced our charity in December, there was real excitement across the company as many of our colleagues saw the opportunity to donate and help spread the word,” Silvestre said. “Many of our referral agents participated and offered their support. We can’t thank them enough for helping us help those in need. “They truly define what it means to be a ‘partner’.”
“We have a lot of things lined up for the coming year,” Coster said. “We plan to be more hands-on with organizations and research other charities across the country for opportunities to involve all NMEF offices.”
For example, later this year, the two plan to support college students by creating a set of mock interviews to prepare for a real setting.
