The ‘metaverse’ has grown beyond industry obsession with, well, East passion in recent years. Laura Roberts of Invent Group argues that, thanks to AI, its brightest times are still ahead.
The creation of metaverses and virtual worlds has been a push-and-pull trend among brand marketers over the past few years.
Many marketers are attracted to the growing opportunities to connect and bring together loyalists through bold, bright and beautiful broad spaces. In these worlds, technological innovation is the catalyst and storytelling serves as a means to bring communities together.
In contrast, some marketers see the metaverse as a mirage: a rich opportunity, perhaps, but with no clear vision of how to get there successfully. Achieving rewards takes time and money, and brands are often unsure how to monetize their presence in these virtual spaces.
Enter AI: Dream even bigger in the virtual world
Instead of investing in core metaverse infrastructure from the outset, immersive virtual platforms such as our own BZAR now exist, acting as a beacon for brands to enter the metaverse through a scalable, tech-enabled Web 3 platform We do. Built by Invnt.Atom, the digital innovation division of Invnt Group, BZAR gave us the opportunity to host the world’s first 1:1 NFT supercar and experiment with building flying dragons and DJ-driven concerts.
The capabilities of these platforms are constantly evolving due to the speed of technology, and now with AI being the main player in the game, brands are empowered to envision virtual worlds with almost no limits.
With the latest AI advancements, the next chapter of the metaverse and virtual worlds is here. The Metaverse is definitely not ‘dead’. Instead it is gearing up for its new developments in partnership with the amazing technologies of AI. So, how can artificial intelligence help better create these virtual worlds?
1. AI-powered content creation and modification
Digital content can now be easily generated in the Metaverse, from AI-generated music, to art, to other creative assets that exist in virtual worlds. This enables metaverse and virtual world experiences that are ever-changing and tailored to the tastes of different audiences in elements such as music.
2. Detailed AI-generated environment
With the rise of generative AI with dynamic rendering and world building capabilities, making virtual worlds even more immersive through the use of amplified audio experiences and graphics is now a possibility. Brand marketers can infinitely imagine the world they would like to immerse their community in.
3. Intelligent Avatar and NPC
The AI can generate non-player characters (NPCs) to populate the metaverse and provide more dynamic interactions. These characters can respond to user actions, engage in conversation, and adapt their behavior and interactions based on user input, making the virtual environment lifelike and interactive.
4. Virtual Commerce
Brands can now leverage AI to deliver targeted advertising and product placement to users, creating new avenues for commerce and bringing a whole new meaning to online shopping.
AI can also run virtual economies within these worlds by predicting demand, setting prices and managing the supply of commercial goods, driving a thriving marketplace.
