Based on his State of the Union address, Joe Biden may be living in a different reality than the Americans he claims to represent. Here’s the truth: This country is hurting, and it’s because Biden has failed miserably as president. Facts cannot be hidden by turning around.
Under Biden’s failed leadership, Americans are poorer and less secure. Our southern border is wide open and deadly drugs are pouring into our communities. Our children are still reeling from the devastating effects of Democrat-led school lockdowns.
All these crises have erupted on Biden’s watch, but he has no interest in fixing them. Instead, he used his time in the People’s House to lie to the American people.

Biden tried to present a rosy picture of the economy, but Americans from coast to coast see right through his dishonesty. A record number of people say they are worse off financially under Biden, according to a new ABC News poll. And according to a recent CBS News poll, 76% of Americans are concerned about inflation and 61% describe the American economy as “bad.”

It’s important to remember that liberal economists, some of whom served in the Obama White House, point to Joe Biden’s reckless spending of $1.9 trillion as a major cause of the inflation we’ve experienced over the past two years.
The numbers don’t lie: Real wages, income and savings are all down across the board since Biden took office. Americans have lost an average of $9,300 to make up for the increased cost of living since Biden took office. Biden’s economy is leaving people behind, and no amount of canned applause can ease the pain that families are feeling on a daily basis.
Biden briefly mentioned the southern border, but conveniently omitted that we actually have no border under his failed leadership. Since Biden took office and widened the border, nearly 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the US.
This chaos creates ideal conditions for cartels to profit, and they are doing so by injecting deadly fentanyl – more than enough to kill our nation’s entire population in 2022 alone – into our communities. Every state is a border state when you don’t have any borders.
There’s no doubt that it makes us less secure, but it’s bigger than that. A self-respecting nation enforces basic border security. Biden’s refusal to do so – and his refusal to support our endangered Border Patrol agents – shows he cares more about appeasing the Left than he does about the security and integrity of our country .
That was Biden’s entire strategy Tuesday night: When it came to the crises under his watch, he either completely ignored them or misrepresented the situation. He mentioned COVID-19, but failed to mention that our children are suffering devastating long-term effects from Democrat-led school lockdowns that his administration worked with far-right teachers unions to maintain .
He mentioned gas prices, but failed to mention that every day under his leadership, gas has become more expensive than it was before he took office. He mentioned China, but refused to specify that they let their surveillance balloons cross most of our country without lifting a finger – and still hold the communist regime accountable for unleashing COVID-19 on the world. No meaningful action has been taken to settle it.

It’s hard to describe how outrageous it is for a president to boast about inflation and incremental changes to gas prices after destroying our energy independence and putting families through the ringer just to make ends meet.
This chaos creates ideal conditions for cartels to profit, and they are doing so by injecting deadly fentanyl – more than enough to kill our nation’s entire population in 2022 alone – into our communities. Every state is a border state when you don’t have any borders.
It’s even harder to understand why Biden’s response to two years of empty savings accounts is proposing billions in new taxes. This President doesn’t respect the American people enough to apologize for his failures and doesn’t think they are smart enough to see through his cheap political spin. He will receive a jarring wake-up call in 2024.
In contrast, the responses of Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Arizona Representative Juan Ciccomani were honest, direct and focused on solutions. It’s clear that unlike Biden, Gov. Sanders and Rep. Ciccomani understands that Americans are hurt.

Where Biden and the Democrats offer failed policies, cynical spin, and outright dishonesty, Republicans are offering a strong economy, safe communities, and a generation of children safe from cultural indoctrination and far-right tyranny.
We are the party of freedom, prosperity, security and the American dream. That spirit is reflected in every word of our response to Biden’s failed speech. That’s why we won the House in 2022, that’s why we’ll win the Senate in 2024, and that’s why Joe Biden will be a one-term president.
