UiPath Inc.’s business automation platform is receiving a boost from the incorporation of new generative artificial intelligence, specialized AI, and automation capabilities that will facilitate the automation of virtually any business task utilizing natural language.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The recently introduced features were disclosed at FORWARD VI, UiPath’s yearly user conference, where the company revealed its Autopilot tool. The company asserts that Autopilot is so potent that it will be able to convert paper documents into business applications with just one click. It guarantees to offer “unexplored automation potential” and ensure the effective development of novel business automation.
UiPath has long been recognized as a leading contender in AI, owing to its robotic process automation tools, which enable companies to decrease costs and operational errors by automating numerous monotonous work-related tasks such as data entry. Its platform is empowered by AI models that acquire knowledge of how these tasks are executed by humans. These models then generate software robots capable of imitating these workflows, eliminating the need for manual execution.
With the launch of Autopilot, UiPath stated that it is propelling business automation to the next level by incorporating generative AI with a collection of expert AI models trained to accomplish various tasks, thereby simplifying its usage so that anyone can benefit from it.
For instance, UiPath mentioned that both professional and civilian developers will be able to employ Autopilot to design automations, code, and expressions using natural language. With these abilities, they can devise more intricate workflows and even fabricate fully automation-driven business applications from PDF and image files.
“By utilizing a user’s words, screenshots, or PDFs from paper documents as input, Autopilot for Apps can generate a robust automation workflow or interface to automation,” stated Graham Sheldon, chief product officer at UiPath. “It enables organizations to achieve ‘one-click digital transformation’ by deploying automated actions.”
On the other hand, Autopilot for UiPath Assistant is an AI companion that will help business users streamline a variety of tasks. One of its capabilities is Clipboard AI, a time-saving feature that simplifies copying and pasting intricate data from one application to another. UiPath indicated that this AI companion will assist users in saving time while completing data-intensive work and other challenging tasks.
Autopilot automation for test suites will assist in expediting every stage of the testing lifecycle, enabling prompt deployment of new automation into production. Additionally, Autopilot for Process Mining will enable business analysts to construct dashboards that uncover novel automation prospects.
Holger Mueller of Constellation Research Inc. highlighted that UiPath’s Autopilot showcases how generative AI is contributing to attaining a heightened level of business automation that was previously deemed unattainable. “The most promising aspect of Autopilot is its document-to-app capability, which can help numerous organizations reach an unprecedented level of automation,” he stated.
Flo Ye, director of automation solutions at Dentsu Inc., remarked that what distinguishes UiPath’s Autopilot from other generative AI copilots is its capacity to foster brainstorming in addition to taking action. “In other words, Autopilot collaborates with humans in the same manner as real applications and contexts,” he stated. “I’m particularly thrilled about how Autopilot for StudioX will continue to lower the automation entry barrier for our team of citizen developers at Dentsu.”
Furthermore, UiPath mentioned that customers will be able to seamlessly integrate these new capabilities with a higher level of confidence, thanks to the newly introduced AI Trust Layer, a management framework for governing data and user interactions. This initiative ensures that organizations responsibly manage the utilization of generic AI within their operations.
“The UiPath AI Trust Layer will enable customers to utilize these new AI capabilities securely, knowing that their data is protected,” Sheldon affirmed.
